Local Urbis Opalos
Ferry Nab, Bowness-on-Windermere
Photographed 02/04/2015
This example replaced a Thorn Beta 5 and runs a fluorescent lamp, as most of the Opalo 1s in this area do but their are some exceptions. Also it is supported by a CU Ware hockey stick column. This light can be found as the second to last column before the slipway for the Windermere car ferry.

This Opalo replaced a Philips MA90. The Opalo runs a 70W/100W metal halide lamp. It also come with a pair of junction boxes which I imagine must be rather barren inside now that the remote geared MA90 has gone. 454 is the lamps identification umber.

This Opalo that is running a CFL which I think is 36W is nothing overly exciting but I decide to photograph it since I was there. If the Opalo is not original to the column then I expect the old lantern to have been a Thorn Beta 5.
