Industria ARC 80
Acquired August 2015
I obtained this lantern by sheer luck of being in the right place at the right time. I was on holiday on the Isle of Skye, and one day we went out to the small ferry port of Uig and encountered the replacement scheme. The columns shown here all used to support Industria Arc 80s with one Urbis ZX3. I did see some replacements later that day featured the removal of CU Phosco P567As and then the next day some Urbis Sapphires in Broadford, the old lantern were scrapped, I would have saved more lights if my car was bigger, but there was three of us and luggage as well. In all cases the new lanterns are Urbis Amperas. All of the old lights were group switched, in very large groups, but all the new lanterns have radio control sensors.

The lantern being worked on is the one that replaced my light. The other one was an Urbis ZX3 which I assume replaced a failed Arc. The canopy of the ZX3 can be seen in the back of the van, also my lantern can be seen next the closed van door with two more Arcs under the ZX3.

The column seen to the left being tested.
A selection of other twin arm lights. These all supported 150W HPS Industria Arc 80s. For anybody wondering the big area to the right of the columns is the area where vehicles queue for the ferry to the Isle of Harris.
For some reason these Arcs have flat glass covers when all the others have polycarbonate bowls.
One of the new Amperas ready to post top mounted in place of a Philips SGS252 'Iridium' (assumed to replace failed Arc)
Being tested
The Iridium (mentioned left) ended up being cut down with a hacksaw which surprised me because it can't be very old but then again this is the coast of western Scotland so it has probably seen a fair few storms.
A rather rare photo of me. When this photo was taken I had, had the lantern for around five minutes.
Upon returning home I tried it and found it worked so I dismantled it for restoration. The restoration is going very slowly so I'll get some photographs of it under restoration and after restoration when the restoration is complete.
