Local Philips SGS203s
Ferry Nab, Bowness-on-Windermere
Photographed 04/04/2015
This one is an SGS203. It is illuminating the slipway for the car ferry on Lake Windermere. It is fitted with a metal halide lamp that I suspect to be 150W. This light may be living on borrowed time as the light levels have been deemed inadequate. This is the reason for the lantern being tilted, it sends more light toward the slipway so the ferrymen can see more clearly to land the car ferry

Compston Road, Ambleside
Photographed 01/04/2015
This pair of black SGS203s can been seen in the junction between Compston Road and Lake Road in Ambleside. These are both very lucky to still be here, as in February 2015, all their companions were removed and replaced with L.E.D. Thorn R2L2s. These lanterns used to run SON-T but both have since been converted to metal halide, this was done when the SON-T lamps wore out. This obviously meant that for a while we were treated to the odd lighting as the left lamp was sodium and the right metal halide, resulting in half the junction being orange and the other white.

Wansfell Road, Ambleside
Photographed 13/11/2015
Wansfell Road is lit with these black SGS203s mounted to black hockey stick columns. They are either 70W or 100W and they are about 50% HPS and 50% MH due to the council converting failed SON-Ts to MH. They are individually switched via nema cells. I will add that not every unit has been documented here with them all being exactly the same to look at.
